WHITE PLAINS – A young man, who was
under 16 years old at the time he attacked two females, faces a maximum
of 10 year in prison following his guilty plea on felony charges of rape
and criminal sexual act.
Javon Roberts, now 16, of Mount Vernon, attacked two people, a 23-year-old
woman and an 11-year-old girl, and sexually assaulted both of them in
late 2014.
“The brutal and violent acts this defendant perpetuated against
these two victims, one an 11-year-old girl, belie the courage displayed
by these women in coming forward,” said District Attorney Janet
DiFiore. “Additionally, excellent detective work and forensic analysis
led to this defendant being held accountable for the depraved crimes he
committed.
Roberts remains in the county jail pending his sentencing in September.
