NEW WINDSOR – A developer is seeking to build a 565,000 square foot warehouse-distribution facility and has a tenant lined up for more than half that space.
Amerisource Bergen, a distributor of pharmaceutical and medical supplies, plans to occupy 317,000 square feet.  They plan on creating 121 jobs when operational and 300 construction jobs.
Developer Matrix Newburgh I, LLC, came before the Orange County Industrial Development Agency Thursday seeking a financial incentive package for their project off Route 17K in the Town of Newburgh.
Associate Executive Director Laurie Villasuso said Amerisource Bergen will translate into an economic boost to the county.
“One of the representatives noted that Amerisource Bergen is number 16 on the Fortune 500 list,” Villasuso said.
Matrix is seeking a sales tax exemption and a 10-year payment-in-lieu of taxes arrangement.
