TARRYTOWN – A Bronx man, who was employed as a full-time toll collector
for the Thruway Authority for the past 11 years assigned to the Tappan
Zee Bridge toll barrier, has been arrested for allegedly stealing toll
money.
State Police arrested Ronald Bootan, 37, on Tuesday, July 7 and charged him with falsifying business records and petit larceny for allegedly pocketing over $476 in revenue by altering toll transactions.  He was released on appearance tickets returnable to local court.
During a joint investigation with the Thruway Authority, troopers discovered that on one occasion Bootan had taken the missing funds and then forged a paper ledger report.
