POUGHKEEPSIE – Reconstruction work is expected to begin the week of July 13 to improve the safety, operation and ride-ability of Noxon Road between Route 55 and Titusville Road in the Town of LaGrange.
Full construction will include the improvement of roadway alignment, installation of new drainage, construction of four feet-wide paved shoulders on both sides of Noxon Road, reconfiguration of turning lanes and the installation of new traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Noxon and Titusville roads.
Construction, by the county Department of Public Works, is expected to last some 16 months.
The Department of Public Works will also begin rehabilitation work to replace existing deteriorating beams on Bridge E-9 on Palen Road in the Town of East Fishkill.  During repair, one lane of the bridge will remain open at all times.
Work on the bridge over the Fishkill Creek is expected to be completed in spring 2016.
In 2014, the bridge was closed to traffic for replacement of deteriorated guiderail and later reopened.
