SAUGERTIES – Former Ulster County Legislator Joseph Roberti, Jr. will run for the Saugerties Town Board this fall.
Roberti has previously worked as a legislative analyst in the State Assembly and served on several public union negotiating teams while working for the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations.
He cited as his accomplishments working with community leaders to keep a mega-dump out of Saugerties, helping to establish a home rule policy that prevented a casino from being built in the town, and working with local residents to clean up a potentially environmentally hazardous waste tire dump in Quarryville.
“I have studied town issues closely for several years and I believe, given my background and two decades of local government service, I can make a profound, positive impact for our community on the town board,” Roberti said.
