Two shot in Poughkeepsie, in unrelated incidents

POUGHKEEPSIE – Police in Poughkeepsie are investigating a pair of unrelated shootings that left two wounded. 
Police responded to on Palmer Avenue near Church Street at around 12:30 a.m. Monday and found a 19-year-old city man with several gunshot wounds to his body.  He was transported to the hospital where he was treated and admitted.
Evidence of a shooting was located on Palmer Avenue, police said.
The other shooting happened early Sunday.  A 21-year-old New Windsor man, who was walking to his car on North Bridge Street in Poughkeepsie shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, was shot in the leg.
The victim told police as he was headed for his car, he heard four gunshots and realized he had been hit. He was driven to Vassar Brothers Medical Center by a private vehicle.
The victim, who suffered a gunshot wound, told police he had no idea who shot him or why.
