GOSHEN – The Personnel and Compensation Committee of the Orange County Legislature has given its unanimous nod to two employee contracts.
One pact covers the 1,500 CSEA members and the other covers sheriff’s deputies.
The full legislature must approve the pacts and County Executive Steven Neuhaus has pledged to sign them.
Once given final approval, Neuhaus said the next step is to implement a second retirement incentive program.
“That allows us to continue to shedding some of the high paying and high costing jobs, which include people that aren’t contributing to health care or retirement and people that are top pay so that will help us save money,” he said.
The personnel committee members approved the contracts unanimously.
