STEWART AIRPORT – Congressman Sean
Patrick Maloney has announced over $1.7 million in FAA funding to be applied
to the cost of repaving Stewart Airport’s two runways.

The $61 million in improvements, which included lighting system upgrades,
were completed earlier this year.

In August of last year, the FAA announced $1.8 million to be applied to
the cost of the work. It was not immediately known if this newly announced
funding was in addition to last year’s grant.

Passenger facility charges, added to the airline ticket prices, also helped
pay for the runway upgrade project.
