KINGSTON – The Ulster County Republican Executive Committee and the county Conservative committee have both endorsed Terry Bernardo for county executive.   She is a former county legislator and chairwoman of the lawmaking body.
“I’m running for county executive because Ulster County needs to reinvest in tourism, make sure that our healthcare infrastructure is secure, and build a county government that works together focused exclusively on the taxpayers, not the power of those in charge,” Bernardo said.
County Republican Chairman Roger Rascoe said the party “will be working hard to see that she is our next county executive.”
Conservative Chairman Edward Gaddy said they “will be working every day to make her campaign for county executive successful.”
Bernardo will face incumbent two-term Executive Democrat Michael Hein, who was named among the top 10 officials in the country by “Governing” magazine.
