PLEASANT VALLEY – A Pleasant Valley woman has been arrested on
a felony grand larceny charge for allegedly stealing a handbag from a
pew during evening mass on June 13.
State Police said the victim was attending mass at St. Stanislaus Church
and when she returned to her pew after receiving Holy Communion, she found
her purse had been stolen.
Following an investigation, it was determined that Katherine Hernandez,
47, had allegedly taken the purse.
She was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of
$2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s
Office.
