GOSHEN – Orange County has not had
a DMV office at the county seat in Goshen since the government center
was closed down years ago.

County Executive Steven Neuhaus has consistently said he would like to
bring it back and he reaffirmed his commitment, saying it would fill a
necessary need in that part of the county.

“It was the most revenue that we got out of any of the DMV’s
came from Goshen because the natural traffic of people there. It’s
in the center of the county; it’s convenient,” he said. “If
you look at it right now, no one in southern Orange County has an easy
DMV to go to. It’s a distance.”
The DMV continues to operate its offices in Middletown, Newburgh and
Port Jervis.
