PORT EWEN – The Ulster County Conservative
Committee has endorsed candidates for two top county positions.
Meeting in Port Ewen, the party voted to back District Attorney Holley
Carnright, a Republican, for another term in office. No Democrat has announced
for the post.
The committee also endorsed Terry Bernardo for county executive. The former
county legislator is also seeking the Republican nod and will likely run
in a GOP primary.
Incumbent Democrat Michael Hein is also seeking reelection.
Individual county legislator candidates will be endorsed by Conservative
committees within each district in the coming weeks.
