One suggestion is to make Market Street two-way

POUGHKEEPSIE – Republican mayoral candidate Robert Rolison announced his support for a Poughkeepsie planning strategy developed in conjunction with the Pace University School of Law’s Land Use Law Center.
The Main Street strategy focuses on issues of economic and community development, public safety, sanitation and public transportation.
The plan will make the city “safer, cleaner, and stronger,” Rolison said on Friday.
“We are talking about things as simple as dedicated transit service for Main Street – a dedicated route back and forth to the Arlington section to help people get to shopping centers and have it done more frequently. That has been one of the frustrations with city transit that it is not as frequent as it should be in certain areas of the city. That obviously helps so many people.”
The study also suggested making Market Street two-way. “There is actually money available to do that.”
Rolison, currently chairman of the Dutchess County Legislature, said
the economic development plan “builds on our strengths and places
the Queen City’s comeback at the center of our local planning efforts.”
