MONTICELLO – A proposed budget that
increases the county contribution to SUNY Sullivan, for the first time
in seven years, appears headed for County Legislature approval next week.
The budget sailed through the Management and Budget Committee on Thursday.
That delighted college President Dr. Karin Hilgersom.
“Well, we’re always trying to do new and exciting things with
or without cash flow, but, it does help us manage fixed cost increases,
and it helps us support the existing programs,” Hilgersom said.
“We don’t want to see the quality slide in those programs
and so we’ve always got to do our best to keep up.”
The county share of the budget was increased from $4 million to $4.25
million.
