Saugerties man arrested on felony drug charges

SAUGERTIES – Members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Team arrested a Saugerties man following a narcotics investigation.
Police executed a search warrant at 454 Malden Turnpike following investigation into information that heroin and crack cocaine was being stored at an apartment there.  Seized during the search were 12 grams of heroin, 10 grams of crack cocaine and three methadone pills, along with accessories associated with the preparation of the drugs for sale.
Kevin Elder, 51, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and criminally possession a hypodermic instrument.  He was to the Ulster County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
