Hitting the road this Thursday

POUGHKEEPSIE – The new Poughkeepsie mobile farmers market hits the road starting this Thursday, June 11.
Spearheaded by Dutchess Outreach, the Poughkeepsie Plenty Fresh Market
is aimed at bringing fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables right
to city residents who have difficulty accessing healthy food, said Dutchess
Outreach Executive Director Brian Riddell.
“We are growing food right now for the market here at the Family Partnership Center,” Riddell said. “We are partners with the Fallkill Community Garden here at the site and we also have the Bruderhoff farm is growing food for the project, and also we are now developing a farm in collaboration with Liberty View Farm in Highland.”
The project received a $58,000 grant from the state to purchase a new truck and trailer.
