WASHINGTON – The Senate Appropriations Committee approved $4.2 million for construction at the Army Reserve Center in Orangeburg. The funding now moves to the full Senate for action.
The funding, which is also included in the House Appropriations bill, would be used to build a new organizational maintenance shop at the center; the current facility cannot meet the training needs of the engineer company.
It was announced by Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
