POUGHKEEPSIE – Republican Poughkeepsie mayoral candidate Robert Rolison was endorsed by the Dutchess County Independence Part.
Rolison is currently chairman of the county legislature.
County Independence Party Chairman Dennis Zack said Rolison “has demonstrated the effective leadership, fiscal responsibility, and commitment to practical, non-ideological solutions that the Independence Party stands for.”
Rolison and another Republican, Jere Tierney, will face off in the September primary. Rolison has the GOP Party endorsement.
Three Democrats have announced their candidacy: Alderman Robert Mallory, Poughkeepsie School Board Member Randall Johnson and businessman Kenneth Levinson.
