Bronx man charged with cashing counterfeit checks

WAPPINGER – A Bronx man was arrested following a fraud investigation.
State Police alleged that Anthony Veggacado, 18, was charged with several counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and identity theft, all as felonies.  An investigation revealed that on February 13, 2015 he allegedly cashed several counterfeit checks totaling some $2,800 at Chase Bank branches in the City of Peekskill and Village of Elmsford.
Veggacado was sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
State Police were assisted by Poughkeepsie and Clarkstown town police departments.
