BEACON – Former Dutchess County Legislator Ronald Ray is running for mayor of the City of Beacon.
Ray, who served one two-year term in the legislature, will run as a Democrat.
“I am going to run for mayor because I want to do my due diligence and to the best for my city and I think I can make some changes,” he told MidHudsonNews.com.
A resident of Beacon since 1989, Ray said he will make his formal announcement in one week.
Incumbent Mayor Randy Casale has yet to announce his political intentions.
