MONTICELLO – Ground has yet to be broken for the casino and resort project in Kiamesha Lake, but there is much interest in the hospitality industry for hotels in Sullivan County.
Sullivan County Partnership President Marc Baez told the Monticello Business Association Thursday evening that hotel developers are kicking the tires in the county.
“We have some of the typical flag-type interest here whether they be Red Roof Inns or Holiday Inns or Courtyards by Marriott, those types of things,” Baez said. “People are looking in the area. There are some retail requests from folks doing their due diligence sending out their investigatory teams to analyze the area and what is going on here and what they anticipate will be here.”
Baez also said there is interest in new housing for workers when the Adelaar Resort project, which will include the Montreign casino, are constructed and operational.
