Woodridge man sentenced to five years for heroin sales

MONTICELLO – A Woodridge man was sentenced in Sullivan County Court on Wednesday to five years in state prison and three years of post-release supervision for the possession and sale of heroin.
Jeffrey Hershewsky, 30, previously pled guilty to the felonies of criminal sale and possession of drugs admitting that he sold heroin on two occasions at his home on Maple Avenue in Woodridge and to possessing about four grams of heroin with intent to sell.
He was arrested in March of last year after an investigation by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and Village of Woodridge Police. Police executed a no-knock search warrant at his residence and seized heroin, packaging materials, scales, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and $1,350 in cash.
District Attorney James Farrell recommended a sentence of eight years in prison because he is a second felony offender with a prior a conviction on grand larceny.
