WURTSBORO – State Police have arrested
an 18-year-old man on two counts of misdemeanor arson with other charges
pending.
The arrest of the man, whose name was not released because of possible
youthful offender status, was made after an investigation by State Police
and state forest rangers during which it was determined that someone had
intentionally set several brush fires in and around the Town of Mamakating
in mid-April and mid-May.
The investigation by the two agencies led to the arrest of the teen who
allegedly started the fires.
He was released on an appearance ticket pending future court action.
