Beacon man charged with unlawfully collecting over $6,000 in unemployment benefits

BEACON – State Police charged a Beacon man with unlawfully collecting over $6,200 worth of unemployment insurance benefits between April and August 2012.
Noel Estrada, Jr., 26, was charged with the felonies of grand larceny and falsifying business records following a joint investigation by the state Labor Department and State Police.  He is accused of generating false business records when he certified he was totally unemployed when he was gainfully employed.
Estrada was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
