Jablonski: “… finding ways to
improve the quality of life …”

POUGHKEEPSIE – Democrat Diane Jablonski officially threw her hat into the ring Tuesday evening announcing she will challenge incumbent Republican Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro in the November general election.
Jablonski served as county comptroller from 2006 through 2009 and spent 28 years working in the private sector including with IBM.
She told supporters at her Poughkeepsie announcement that the campaign is not about the candidates, but rather about the people of Dutchess County.
“It’s about finding ways to improve the quality of life for every citizen of Dutchess County. It’s finding jobs, well-paying jobs, not just minimum wage jobs,” she said.
Jablonski feels she’s “uniquely qualified” for the job of county executive based on her life experience. She’s spent the past five years since being comptroller as a private citizen watching the government.
“Based on what I’ve seen, I decided to run for office,” Jablonski said.
Molinaro announced his reelection bid last week and on Tuesday, county GOP Chairman Michael McCormack said the county Republican Committee has formally endorsed him for a second term.
“Marc and his team have done a terrific job in getting the county’s fiscal house in order,” McCormack said.
