LED lighting company gets IDA incentives to expand

NEW WINDSOR – USAI, LLC plans to construct
a $6.5 million expansion project at its New Windsor facility which manufacture
LED lighting.  It plans on hiring 100 new employees while retaining
134 existing ones with the New Windsor project.
The company received final approval from the Orange County Industrial Development Agency for a number of financial incentives, said IDA Associate Executive Director Laurie Villasuso.
“What they are looking for is a 10-year PILOT (Payments in Lieu of Taxes agreement), mortgage recording tax exemption and sales tax exemption for the renovation, rehabilitation and upgrading of their existing facility,” Villasuso said.
USAI is part of the group that owns Hudson Valley Lighting in Newburgh.
