Astorino (file):  “We won the Hudson Valley”

WHITE PLAINS – Republican Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino’s statewide political aspirations may not be over. He ran unsuccessfully against incumbent Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo last fall. But, he said he would keep the door open for another run in the future.
Astorino continues to comment about statewide issues and makes public appearances outside his home county.
He said he enjoyed the campaign last year despite his loss.
“Despite being outspent $45 million to $5 million we did very well,” he said. “We won the Hudson Valley and won most of the state, in fact, won 49-46 outside New York City.  The building blocks are there and if the state continues to go in the trajectory that it is on, which is a downward spiral, then we need to make some big changes.”
Astorino will have three years to decide on another run for the state’s top job.
