Newburgh gunshot victim dies making second murder over weekend

NEWBURGH – A second person has died after being shot in Newburgh last weekend.
Christian Vaquero, 20, of the City of Newburgh, who was shot while sitting in a parked vehicle on Hasbrouck Street at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, died Wednesday evening.
Newburgh City Police, State Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office are continuing to investigate the shooting. Acting Police Chief Daniel Cameron is asking for anyone with information to call Newburgh City Police at 845-561-3131.
Early Saturday morning, Terence West, 16, of Newburgh, was standing outside the Lake Street Apartments on Lake Drive when he was shot and killed. That incident remains under investigation as well.
