NEWBURGH – The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center, headquartered in Newburgh, received a $625,000 federal grant and a green light to open facility in the City of Binghamton.
That Southern Tier city is about double the size of Newburgh, but with the same problems and issues, said health center President Linda Muller.
“Larger, bigger,” noted Muller.  “Health disparities are basically the same. Federal poverty levels are basically the same. It’s bigger than what we have in the City of Newburgh but it is exactly the same kinds of concerns that we deal with every day in the City of Newburgh.”
The new medical facility will be located on the Saratoga Heights campus of the Binghamton Housing Authority and will serve housing authority residents and individuals from the surrounding neighborhoods.
