KINGSTON – A man, who is incarcerated in the Ulster County Jail,
has been charged with calling in a bomb threat to the Hannaford’s
supermarket in the Kingston Plaza.
Kristopher Surdis, 42, was charged with felony falsely reporting an incident.
On May 6 at about 4:13 p.m., the supermarket received a threat warning a bomb was about to go off. Kingston Police conducted a search of the store for suspicious packages or items that could contain a bomb. Nothing unusual was found.
An investigation determined Surdis called Hannaford’s while he was in jail, and made the threat.
He was convicted previously for the same crime in 2008.
Surdis remains in jail without bail.
