SUFFERN – A 23-year-old Suffern man
has been charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon
after he allegedly stabbed his father several times in the head with a
screwdriver.

The incident occurred at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at 48 Ramapo Avenue. When
village police arrived on the scene, they encountered a man coming out
of the residence covered in blood. He told officers his son and he had
gotten into a verbal argument which escalated quickly when the son picked
up a screwdriver and attacked him.

A Suffern Police K-9 unit located the screwdriver on the railroad tracks
behind the home.
