BUCHANAN – Indian Point Unit 3 nuclear
power plant was removed from service Thursday morning following discovery
of a leak of clean steam from a pipe on the non-nuclear side of the plant
overnight.

It was determined the leak could be repaired only while the plant was
shut down. It will be returned to service when the maintenance work has
been completed.

There was no release of radioactivity and no threat to the safety of workers
or the public, Entergy said.

Unit 2 is operating at full power.
