Ulster jail inmate charged with violating protection order

KINGSTON – Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies charged an inmate at the county jail in Kingston with violating an order of protection.
William Knox, Jr., 45, of Kingston allegedly committed the violation by communicating by mail with a protected party issued the order of protection against him.
Knox was charged on April 24 with criminal contempt and sent back to the county jail where he is being held on an unrelated charge.
Deputies were assisted by the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.
