Two arrested on fugitive warrants

NEW YORK – Police made two arrests of men wanted as parole absconders.
Gilbert Samuel, 41, of Newburgh, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the New York State Division of Parole. The original charge against him was attempted assault on a police officer.  He was also wanted by Newburgh City Police on an outstanding warrant for intimidating a witness and menacing.
In another case, Derrick Perkins, 45, of Wurtsboro, was arrested on an outstanding warrant by the New York State Division of Parole for being a parole absconder.  The original charge against him was for felony criminal possession of a controlled substance.
