Fire ravages lumber company

TOWN OF WARWICK – A large fire raged at a lumber company in the Town of Warwick.
The eight-alarm fire at Mid-State Lumber Company on Kings Highway brought
out personnel from an estimated 20 fire departments from across the area
along with ambulance corps. Additional tanker trucks were called in to
supply water.
One firefighter was taken to a local hospital for treatment of an injury.
The blaze was reported in the late afternoon hours and continued to burn
in several buildings containing lumber.  Flames spread to an adjacent
mulch business in the evening hours.
Friday morning additional fire departments were called out under mutual
aid including those as far away as Middletown and the Town of Newburgh.
