Couple arrested on drug charges in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – Police in Newburgh executed a no-knock search warrant at 6 a.m. on March 31 at 222 Washington Street and arrested a man and woman who were with a 10-year-old child.
The child was turned over to his grandmother.
During a search of the third-floor apartment and attached garage, officers located 13.5 grams of heroin and $1,178 in suspected drug sale proceeds.
Henry Santana, 33, of Newburgh, was charged with felony and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child. He was on federal probation at the time of his arrest.
Shannon Carrion, 29, also of Newburgh, was charged with misdemeanor drug possession and endangering the welfare of a child.
