ACCORD – State Police have charged a 31-year-old Accord man with
cruelty to animals for killing his girlfriend’s dog in the Town
of Rochester.

Michael Oramas was arrested on Friday after troopers conducted an investigation
into a dispute at 24 Rochester Center Road in Accord. Oramas and his girlfriend
were arguing over the death of her eight-year-old dog, when police arrived.
Investigation determined the animal had been treated at a veterinary hospital
in Kingston and found to have died from blunt force trauma injuries including
broken ribs, punctured lung and broken mandible as well as other internal
injuries.

Oramas was home with the dog and when his girlfriend returned home, she
found the dug hurt and having trouble breathing.

Oramas was arrested by State Police at the Ellenville barracks and released
on an appearance ticket pending a future court appearance.
