Over $900,000 in Dutchess CDBG grants announced

POUGHKEEPSIE – Eleven municipalities in Dutchess County will share over $900,000 through the county’s Community Development Block Grant Program.
County Executive Marcus Molinaro said the federal funds support a wide range of needs in the local communities.
“In the round of grants that we announced [Wednesday] we continue our commitment to help communities revitalize, to create greater access for residents of all abilities, and to work with towns, villages and city governments in Dutchess County to make a measurable impact on our shared economy and quality of life,” Molinaro said.

The Village of Wappingers Falls and the towns of Wappinger and Poughkeepsie will share $242,700 for the Lower Wappinger Creek Community Boathouse.
The Village of Millerton and Town of North East will receive $64,600 for handicapped access improvements for North East-Millerton Library.
The City of Beacon will receive $158,655 for Rombout Avenue road reconstruction.
The Town of Amenia will receive $150,000 for downtown sidewalk improvement to Beekman Park.
The Town of East Fishkill will receive $100,000 for the handicapped accessible Julie’s Jungle Playground phase two.
The Town of Red Hook will receive $99,400 for Town Hall handicapped access improvements.
The Village of Pawling will receive $66,000 for Haight Street handicapped access sidewalk improvements.
The Village of Red Hook will receive $52,300 for Route 9 and firehouse handicapped accessible improvements.
