One dead in Dutchess mobile home fire

ARLINGTON – Fire in a trailer at the Shady Brook Trailer Park in the Town of Poughkeepsie Sunday evening claimed the life of the occupant.
Arlington District firefighters, who arrived within three minutes of dispatch, entered the burning structure and pulled the unconscious occupant out. Emergency resuscitation efforts were begun by Arlington paramedics and firefighters.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital by Arlington Fire District Ambulance and later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Fire Chief Tory Gallante.
One person not inside the structure was treated at the scene.
Firefighters also stopped the spread of the fire to adjacent trailers and a vehicle.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Arlington Fire Investigation Division and Poughkeepsie Town Police.
Arlington was assisted by firefighters from the City of Poughkeepsie, LaGrange, Pleasant Valley, and New Hamburg, Mobile Life Support Services, Town of Poughkeepsie Police, the town building department and water department, Central Hudson and the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response.
