KINGSTON – The Ways and Means Committee of the Ulster County Legislature Wednesday took no action on a proposal to establish an environmental remediation reserve account.
Committee Chairman Richard Gerentine said lawmakers wanted more information before voting on it.
“I think everybody is agreeable that we need some kind of a reserve fund,” Gerentine said.  “The question is how we are going to set it up and to what degree are we going to fund it.”
The Energy and Environment Committee earlier this week approved the proposal, but it cannot move forward until the Ways and Means Committee – the money committee – passes judgment.
