KINGSTON – A Great Barrington, Massachusetts man was arrested on Friday on a felony charge of criminal possession of stolen property.
When Robert Schooley, 57, was stopped by a Town of Shandaken Police officer for a traffic violation, it was learned that the vehicle he was driving had been stolen during a burglary in the Town of Red Hook. He was turned over to State Police who continue to investigate several burglaries in a number of jurisdictions. Troopers in Kingston and Rhinebeck have been investigating those burglaries and recovered stolen property identified as proceeds from those crimes.
Schooley was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail.  Police said it is expected that additional charged will be filed at a later date.
