KINGSTON – A man who was involved in a shoot incident outside a
Town of Lloyd nightclub last year was sentenced in Ulster County Court
on Friday to one-and-one-third to four years in state prison. Tahmel Gordon,
19, also known as “Mel,” had pled guilty to criminal possession
of a firearm last December.

The incident occurred when at least 15 shots were fired by a crowd of
patrons who had just left the Home nightclub on Route 9W. Responding police
officers found one man wounded by a shotgun collapsed in the parking lot
of the club.

Gordon and defendants Frederick Smith, also known as “Supa,”
and DiMetri Moseley, also known as “Poncho,” all of Poughkeepsie,
drove away from the scene with Gordon behind the wheel. Police gave pursuit,
but despite several police cars trying to stop it, Gordon did not respond.
After about a mile, the suspects’ car was forced to stop on Route
9W when police erected a barrier. Officers surrounded the vehicle ordering
the men to come out of the car with their hands up. They ignored the commands
and Smith was seen throwing a semi-automatic pistol out of his door. Shortly
after, Gordon was seen pulling a 38 caliber revolver from his waistband
and was shot twice by police.

The gun was later determined to have six spent casings in its chamber.

After Gordon was shot, he passed the gun to the backseat passenger, Moseley,
and the vehicle slowly began to roll to a stop across the street.

The suspects were then apprehended. Gordon’s injuries were not life
threatening.

Gordon has also pled guilty to a separate charge of criminal possession
of a weapon in Dutchess County for possessing a loaded handgun in July
2013, and is waiting sentence there.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Clifford Owens
and Gordon was represented by Thomas Petro.
