GOSHEN – Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler has created two phone tip lines for residents to call with leads about criminal activity.
The crime hotline may be used by anyone wishing to report information about any type of crime. That number is 845-291-2106.
A second hotline, at 845-291-2107, is for tips about labor crimes, particularly involving failure to pay proper wages, unsafe working conditions, prevailing wage violations, workers compensation fraud and other crimes where either employees or the government have been victimized.
Hoovler said information may be left anonymously on either line.
“The overall goal of both of these is to give the citizens of Orange County anonymous lines that they can call in and give the information to the DA’s office so that if they are concerns about talking to law enforcement or they don’t want to go through law enforcement, they have an alternative avenue,” he said.
Hoovler said the tip lines are the latest tools in the community prosecution
model his office has established.
