TOWN OF WALLKILL – The exit 122 rebuild of New York Route 17 in the Town of Wallkill should be substantially completed in August.
The state-funded more than $68 million project was expected to be finished by the end of the year, but Town Supervisor Daniel Depew said State Transportation officials told him the work would be done late this summer.
“They said they were ahead of schedule on the project, that they have teed up a lot of things they will be able to start as soon as the winter breaks and that they see no reason why they wouldn’t be able to be fully functional and go with that project in the month of August,” Depew said.
Construction includes newly configured entrance and exit ramps onto the highway and a reconfigured road pattern to bring the roadway onto East Main Street/Crystal Run Road where Orange Regional Medical Center is located.
