Motorist killed in wrong-way crash on Sprain Brook was NYPD cop

GREENBURGH – A New York City Cop, who lived in Hartsdale, was killed when a driver, heading the wrong way on the Sprain Brook Parkway, hit him head-on. 
State Police said the crash occurred just before 4:00 Friday morning when a car driven by Efren Moreano, 20, of Yonkers was northbound in the southbound lane and slammed into the SUV driven by Paul Duncan, 46, who died.
Duncan was a member of the New York City Police Department who was off duty at the time of the crash. He was a detective first grade assigned to the Internal Affairs Bureau.
Moreano was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
