MIDDLETOWN – The City of Middletown will develop protocols to protect its computer systems from data security breaches.
City attorney Richard Guertin said the policy will be in keeping with what the state requires.
“It will place us in compliance with state law that requires that in the event of a compromise of data that the city might have collected electronically that is private information, and there has been a breach of that, then there are certain notification processes that have to be followed,” Guertin said.
The city council will discuss and adopt the proposal in the next few months.
