Man jumps to his death from Newburgh-Beacon Bridge

BEACON – The body of a 31-year-old
Stormville man was recovered Sunday night after he jumped off the Newburgh-Beacon
Bridge, State Police said.

The body of Anthony Sinishtaj was recovered on the front river by the
State Police dive team.

At about 7:44 p.m., troopers received a 911 call of an unoccupied 2013
Volkswagen Jetta stopped in the westbound lanes of the bridge with its
hazard light flashing.
Officers determined that Sinishtaj had gotten out of his vehicle and
jumped from the bridge.

State Police were assisted with the recovery of the body by the Fishkill
Town Police and City of Beacon Fire Department.

State Police continue to investigate the circumstances involved in the
incident.
