Sales tax collections up in all area counties

ALBANY – Local sales tax collections rose in all Hudson Valley/Catskills counties in 2014.  Sullivan showed the biggest percentage increase.  Westchester took in the most in dollars.
PERCENTAGE INCREASE:

Sullivan 6.1 percent.
Columbia 6 percent  
Dutchess 4.9 percent  
Rockland 4.8 percent  
Putnam 4.7 percent  
Westchester 3.2 percent,
Greene 1.2 percent  
Orange 0.8 percent
Ulster 0.2 percent  

MONEY COLLECTED:

Westchester $503.8 million,
Orange $260.7 million,
Rockland $194.6 million,
Dutchess $174.1 million,
Ulster $103.4 million.
Putnam $55.8 million
Sullivan $35.8 million,
Columbia County $35.7 million.
Greene County $28.9 million
