NEW PALTZ – March 24 is the new date set for a vote by New Paltz school district residents on a proposed $52.9 million bond for renovations to all of the district’s buildings.
The proposal lost by about 100 votes last October and a new vote was set for this past Tuesday. That was cancelled because of the weather.
Superintendent Maria Rice said the district believes the bond will pass this time.
“The board truly felt that if we really, really got information out in a variety of new ways, some suggestions came from the community, then people could make a more informed decision,” Rice said.
School officials are counting on the bond being passed this time to implement the significant renovation plan.
