TOWN OF CHESTER – Three people have been arrested in connection with the theft of six cast iron radiators from a barn on Route 94 in the Town of Chester in December.
An investigation revealed that Mark Humbert, 44, of Monroe, had removed the radiators. He was arrested last week and charged by Chester Police with felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property.
Carol Humbert, 74, of Warwick, Mark Humbert’s mother, was also arrested last week and charged with making a false written statement as a misdemeanor.
Nicolas Mercado, 30, of Monroe, was in Humbert’s truck when they were stopped by Blooming Grove Police after leaving the scene. He was arrested this week and charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property.
During the investigation, police said she gave a statement that she was the owner of the radiators and had given them to her son, which was later found to be false.
Carol Humbert and Mercado were released on their own recognizance. Mark Humbert was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail of $15,000 bond. He later posted bail and was released.
